Traditional Wall Panelling

The requirement

To create an intricate and decorative wall feature as part of a refurbishment to the main function room of this grand residential home.

The out come

The result was a beautiful piece of traditional woodwork which amalgamated the regal setting of the property and augmented the room to a higher quality.

How we made it

A detailed survey of the room was undertaken. Precedent images were gathered to refine the proposed style of the wall panelling. A full design was produced for client approval. The surrounding frame, consisting of the stiles, top and bottom rail was formed from a suitable wood and connected using traditional methods including housed and stub tenon joints. Once formed, the raised panels were incorporated, featuring intricate bevelled profiles. Embossed areas were carved to form a bespoke design. Once assembled the wall was deconstructed and re-assembled on site.
